I have never been a morning person and love doing things in the dark of night. It’s when the world gets quiet. It’s when I feel most comfortable and safe. So whenever I’m making changes to the site, writing, or doing whatever else, you can assume it’s being done at night.
Since the site is new and I’m still finding small things here and there to edit, I spent all night from Friday to Saturday working on it. The devil is in the details as they say, but before I knew it… it was daylight. The birds were singing, and the outside world was loud with people and cars.
Since I had bookings that same Saturday afternoon, I knew I couldn’t go to bed at that point. That’s fine. I usually wake up quite late in the day, so I hadn’t even been awake for an entire day at that point. I figured I’d just take a nap once I got to the studio.
Well… that was the plan anyway.
I had a fantastic session first thing, and three more bookings throughout the day. I had time in between to nap… if I hadn’t needed to go pick something up I’d bought through Marketplace. I had a healthy breakfast, and my sessions energise me. So I was completely fine, right up until I was about to leave. I was very excited to crawl into my freshly changed sheets back at home. It was at a pretty decent time too, about 1AM.
But then I had a walk-in, for a massage. He was ever so charming. I felt very inclined to make an exception for him. And as a person who stays true to her intuition, I absolutely did. So, in the end, I had a lot of fun and left feeling content at about 4AM. I hadn’t slept for longer than I care to admit at this point.
The ride home was fantastic. Empty roads, empty head. Having the roads all to myself, armed with a VERY large cup of coffee and techno music, makes me feel at peace.
Oh man, was it nice to arrive home to my cats. I sat on the floor with them, gave them treats, and made my way to the shower. And then, at last, my freshly changed sheets.
Suffice it to say, I did absolutely nothing productive today. I love days like this. It’s just me, my cats, my portable DVD player, and my favourite movies. This time around, it was V for Vendetta and the Butterfly Effect. I had an unusually long, chaotic, wonderful day. And now I’m home, safe, with my cats, my clean sheets, and absolutely nothing I need to do.
What a privilege.
Tomorrow, it’s back to working in the garden for me. I’m also preparing my oils tomorrow. My own personal massage and perfume oils. I’m very excited, as my massage oil will help a lot of people besides me. But more on that later, once it’s finished.
There is one thing I can’t quite figure out, though, and that is my small dishwasher. It started blurting out errors at me on Friday, and I spent quite some time trying to fix it, but I seem to have only made things worse. At one point, it was leaking water from the front door, and that is definitely not supposed to happen, so now I’m a bit scared to keep at it. And I don’t scare easily.
I’ll be back in the studio this Tuesday, which technically is tomorrow, since I’m writing this at 3AM. But sshhh.
It’s still Sunday to me.
The mood right now?… Happy, satisfied, dancing to this.
